Veetee Heat & Eat rice is ready in just 2 minutes. Tear the film corner, microwave the pouch on full power for around 2 minutes (based on an 800W oven), then squeeze the hot rice onto your plate and separate the grains with a fork. Always check the timings printed on your pack, as they vary a little by microwave wattage and variety.
Yes. Veetee Heat & Eat rice is fully cooked, so you are only reheating it, not cooking it from raw. That is why it is ready in about 2 minutes. It is steamed and sealed in the pouch to lock in freshness without any need for preservatives.
Because the rice is already cooked, it is safe to eat straight from the pouch once opened. For the best taste and texture we recommend heating it. If you do reheat cooked rice, heat it until piping hot all the way through, only reheat it once, and do not leave cooked rice standing at room temperature for long.
Boil in the bag rice is typically cooked in a pan of boiling water for around 10 to 12 minutes, then drained in the bag. Times vary by variety and portion size, so always follow the exact cooking time printed on the pack for the best results.
No. Heat & Eat pouches need no added water, oil or pan. The rice is steamed in the pouch, so you simply microwave it straight from the packet. This is what makes it a genuine 2-minute side dish or meal base.
Rice is naturally gluten free, and our plain rice varieties contain no gluten ingredients. Some recipe or flavoured products may include other ingredients, so if you are coeliac or highly sensitive, always check the allergen information on the specific pack before eating.
Our Heat & Eat rice is cooked and sealed in the pouch using steam, which keeps it fresh without artificial preservatives. Exact ingredients depend on the variety, so check the ingredients list on the pack for the product you have.
Many of our plain rice varieties are suitable for vegetarians and vegans, but some flavoured and recipe products contain dairy or other animal-derived ingredients. Check the suitability and allergen labelling on each individual pack to be sure.
Wholegrain and brown rice options keep more of the grain's natural fibre, while plain steamed white rice such as basmati or long grain is a light, low-fat base for balanced meals. Choosing plain, unflavoured pouches lets you control what you add. Compare the nutrition panel on each pack to pick what fits your diet.

Store unopened pouches and dry rice in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight, and use them by the best-before date on the pack. Once a pouch is opened, eat it straight away and do not keep leftover cooked rice for long. Always follow the storage guidance printed on the packaging.
